The Newspaper Association of Karnataka in collaboration with BNM Institute of Technology, (Bangalore), honored BOSCO, Bangalore, by conferring on it the `Mother Teresa Memorial National Award 2017,` during a ceremony at BNM Institute of Technology, (Bangalore), on June 1, 2017.
The award was handed over to Father Mathew Thomas sdb, Executive Director, BOSCO, Bangalore by Justice P. Vishwanath Shetty, Honorable Lokayukta, (Karnataka State). He referred to BOSCO as rendering yeomen service in the field of care and protection of children. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, cine actress and noted philanthropist, applauded the efforts and contributions of BOSCO in creating a child-friendly society.

Jesus the Good Shepherd Province, New Delhi, commenced its 10th Provincial Chapter on 17th April, in the Provincial House, New Delhi, with the theme: Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people – living our Salesian vocation faithfully and prophetically. There are 69 members, 54 Delegates and 15 Observers comprising of Salesians, members of the Salesian Family, young people and the past pupils participating in the Provincial Chapter. Fr. Toppo Augustine Albert is the moderator of the Chapter.
